Law matters are different to private law matters as they relate to involvement with Local Authority in relation to matters concerning children.

The Local Authority (Children and Young Persons Services, otherwise known as Social Care) may become involved after receiving referrals expressing concerns about the care being afforded to a child or children.

Our team of solicitors have a wealth of experience in this area of law and are able to offer initial advice and assistance around early involvement of Social Care and any child protection issues.

We are also able to attend formal meetings, such as Public Law Outline meetings, in which parents are required to attend a legal meeting with a legal representative so that matters concerning their children can be discussed with a view to a Public Law Outline plan being drawn up. These meetings are help so as to try, if possible, to avoid the Local Authority making an application to the Court for an Interim Care Order to seek removal of the child/children into foster care.

If care proceedings are issue then our team of solicitors are also able to assist with these court proceeding and will provide advice and assistance to you around these difficult proceedings. We will be able to represent you or arrange for representation on your behalf at Court.
