We are pleased to announce that Filomena Sterkaj has completed her training contract and today qualifies as a Solicitor within the firm.

Filomena Sterkaj joined John Fowlers in February 2015 after completing her Law degree and LPC at Anglia Ruskin University. Prior to joining, Filomena worked as a Legal Assistant in Children Law matters. The extensive knowledge and experience that she gained in this area has been a real asset to not only her training contract as a whole, but particularly in her seat in the Family Department, where we are pleased to say that she will be staying upon qualification. Filomena’s training included time in our Conveyancing and Wills and Probate departments, which has provided her the unique ability to approach and advise on a client’s matter with a greater level of understanding of not only the matter at hand, but also the surrounding issues that can be affected.

Filomena will now join the Family Department; dealing with Divorce, Ancillary Relief, Nullity, Pre/postnuptial Agreements, Cohabitation/ Separation Agreements, Public and Private Children Law matters and Injunctions. She will be working alongside the Family Partner, Sheila Crosby along with Chartered Legal Executive Kim Chapman and Matrimonial Executive Dawn Dorrell.

Head of Family Department and Partner here at the firm, Sheila Crosby comments:

“Filomena is a great asset to the firm and is articulate, knowledgeable and emphatic whilst remaining focused on obtaining the outcome required by clients. I am delighted she has joined the Family Department”
Filomena commented on her new role:

“The Family Department takes every step possible to ensure the comfort and well-being of its clients and I am very pleased to be joining the team. By directly working with Shelia, I have had the opportunity to meet many new clients and assist them in their legal proceedings, which at times can be in difficult or sensitive circumstances. My experience has been furthered by attending client meetings, as well as numerous Court hearings and Local Authority attendances, an experience I believe to be invaluable.”
Filomena has received positive feedback from both clients and other professionals. A professional recently commented

“the client was really happy with the service provided and commented how Filomena shall go far upon her well-deserved qualification.”
