Court of Protection
If your loved one is unable to either manage their property and financial affairs and/or deal with matters relating to medical treatment or care provision then we at John Fowlers LLP are able to assist you with an application to the Court of Protection. We can assist with all aspects of Court of Protection work whether this be an initial application for a family member to become what is known as the Deputy (this is the legal term given to the person appointed by the Court of Protection to look after the affairs of the incapacitated person known as the Patient) or whether the matter relates to other issues relating to an already appointed Deputy who you believe is not capable of carrying out that role any longer.
No matter what the issue at hand our dedicated and specialist team will be able to guide you and advice the necessary steps to take. We also have available an Office of the Public Guardian Panel Deputy (1 of 64 appointed in April 2011) who is at times asked to take over the management of some Deputy matters, for example where family members no longer feel able to carry out the role of Deputy or where there is nobody initially to represent an incapacitated person. It may also be that the matters raised are complicated and require specialist knowledge.
If you do have any questions about any aspect of Court of Protection matters then please do not hesitate to contact us. If you wish to telephone, please call 01206 576151 and ask for Chris Andrews or e-mail chris@johnfowlers.co.uk.
