The Importance of Your Childs Well-being – International Day of Families

The Importance of Your Childs Well-being – International Day of Families
15th May 2017 Louise Thomas

As we discussed earlier this month in our Family Safety Week blog, every child deserves the best start in life not only relating to safety but also ensuring equal access to education and every child’s overall well-being.

The United Nations Division for Social Policy and Development (DSPD) supports the worldwide observance of the International Day of Families each year on the 15th May. International Day of Families focuses on the importance of parental education for the welfare of their children. This year, the theme focuses on the role of families in promoting early childhood education and lifelong learning opportunities for children and youth.

Unfortunately, for so many people, education is viewed as simply memorising facts and figures. Some parents may think that learning begins when a child walks into a classroom on the first day of school rather than it beginning at home, from their family and daily life activities. All three of these have a strong affect on a child’s ability to learn. You are your child’s first teacher, and every single day – from the moment they are born – is filled with opportunities to help him or her learn. It is activities such as singing songs, painting pictures and play acting which are the building blocks of lifelong learning.  It is important that every parent promotes early childhood education and continues this support throughout the duration of their child’s education.

At John Fowlers Solicitors we recognise that relationship breakdowns can have significant effects on children, and there are times when parents without even realising it, are unable to put their children’s needs before their own. We can assist from the onset of a relationship breakdown, whether this is your long term marriage or a short term partner. We aim to relieve pressures from the client and assist you in every way possible to prevent significant impact on your children.  Most parents aren’t even always aware that their children are picking up on negative body language even when they try their utmost to ensure that children are kept away from any adult conflict. Our Colchester solicitors experience, as well as their practical and legal advice can reduce tension felt by some separating parents allowing them to focus on the more important things in their children’s lives as set out above.
